Alexey is the General Counsel for the CIS regional practice of EY (formerly - Ernst & Young). EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services. EY today is an international organization with 728 offices in 150 countries. EY CIS regional practice operates in 9 countries through more than 20 offices employing 4,000 personnel. 

Alexey has been with EY for 7 years, and his main achievements included a significant corporate restructuring of the CIS practice and managing a number of serious litigations and regulatory projects. EY CIS General Counsel’s Office team of 15 lawyers led by Alexey provides support to EY member firms in the CIS for the full range of legal and regulatory matters. 

Before joining EY, Alexey worked as a Legal & External Affairs Director with Nissan, where he was responsible for legal support and government relations for the Japanese carmaker’s business in Russia and other CIS countries. Prior to that Alexey worked as a Legal Manager for Fonterra CIS. 

Alexey holds a degree in law from the Russian University of Land Use Planning and LL.M in business law from the University of Manchester. In 2015 and 2016 Alexey Statsenko was recognized as one of the Top 1000 Russian managers, and was named among the Top 3 Legal Directors in the professional services industry (according to the rating of the Association of Russian Managers/the Kommersant daily business newspaper).
