Head of Legal Russia/CIS & Lead Counsel IBM Global Business Services, Central/Eastern Europe | IBM

Alexey Amvrosov is the Head of Legal for all Russia/CIS operations of IBM. In addition, he is the lead counsel for the IBM Global Business Services division in the whole of CEE. IBM is a global leader in IT, currently focusing on artificial intelligence, cloud, business and technology services and consulting, enterprise software and high-end hardware.

Alexey has over 20 years of in-house and private practice experience and deep knowledge of commercial, corporate, IT laws and international practices, and legal department management. He speaks English, German and Russian. IBM Russian legal team led by Alexey was recognized by Legal 500's “GC Powerlist: Russia teams” in 2016.

Alexey has been with IBM since 2005 and is currently based in Vienna. During this period, Alexey held various roles in IBM Legal Department on top of his main responsibilities (including cross-regional coordination of internal investigations, litigation and dispute resolution, public sector, etc.). Prior to IBM, Alexey worked in private practice – German law firm Noerr (1997-2001) and international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright (2001-2005), focusing on M&A and corporate, general commercial and natural resources law. Alexey is a graduate of the law faculty at MGIMO University – Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Bachelor and Master programs) and was also lecturing comparative corporate law in Moscow State Open University prior to joining IBM and moving to Vienna.
